James (Jim) Addison Cobb was born on June 13, 1985 in Mount Kisco to Phyllis and Michael Cobb. A longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson, Jim was a graduate of Croton-Harmon High School as well as a proud alumnus of Walkabout 26 (2003), an alternative program for high school seniors.

Those who knew Jim say that his love and appreciation for music began at a very early age. By the time he was in high school, Jim was known for being heavily involved in the local music scene, continuing to play with bands into his late teens and 20s.

He worked in New York City as a producer and composer. In 2013, he moved to Hawaii and pursued a career as a guitarist, composer, musical director and producer.

He was survived by his parents, Phyllis and Michael Cobb of Croton on Hudson, New York; his sister, Amy Cobb and partner Shannon FitzPatrick of Providence, Rhode Island, his beloved daughter, Fiona Kea Cobb, and his wife, Jane Foody of Aiea, Hawaii.

Jim died on Thursday, July 11 in Aiea, Hawaii.

A celebration of Jim’s life will take place at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Croton on Hudson (6 Old Post Road N.) on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Walkabout Education Foundation at www.walkabout.org.
